[Email] Blockage to some domains

So apparently our new email server is clear on 99.5% of email block lists, however it seems one, CloudMark CSI, has us listed.
Charter, Comcast, Microsoft (live, hotmail, etc), and I'm sure many others seem to use this service.

I have submitted a request to CloudMark to re-evaluate the IP Address, since we are new 'owners' of it. Hopefully this will be resolved shortly. I will keep everyone updated.

[Maintenance] Email Service Outage and Move

Over the last few days there have been some issues with our email server (both incoming and outgoing).
Because of this, we will be moving our email to another server tonight, as well as switching the service that provides IMAP and POP3 service.
Starting around 18:00 EST tonight, mail will go offline. Shouldn't be offline for more then an hour or two while some moves and quick tests are performed.
If there are any problems after the move, they will be posted here, however we do not forsee any.

[VPS] Atlanta Outage

At roughly 4:00PM MST vps1.atl experienced a fatal slow down that caused some VPS instances to get shutdown from the host server. We are looking into the cause and are slowly rebooting the VPSes that are still currently offline. We apologize for the inconvenience.

We are happy to announce we are launching a VPS host node in Los Angeles, CA, US, This server will start out in Beta mode for the weekend to iron out any potential issues with provisioning and performance, this beta length is subject to change based on feedback and reviews. Customers wishing to participate in the beta can contact us on IRC (irc.ssnet.ca #SmartServ) or open a ticket. Please note that these VPSes WILL be removed at the end of the test period to make way for production. If you wish to continue with a VPS in LA please open a ticket before the beta period has ended and we will arrange the billing.

This node is running on top of KVM (http://www.linux-kvm.org/)

Beta testing will begin early Saturday and last until Monday morning unless otherwise stated.

[VPS] Linux kernel 3.2.2

Due to recent vulnerabilities found in the Linux kernel we have compiled Linux 3.2.2 for our VPS instances. We urge any customers running a kernel newer than 2.6.38, this can be checked by issuing uname -a, to upgrade. At the time being we only have a tarball available so users will need to update grub configs by hand.

[VPS] Linux kernel 3.1.6

We have put together a kernel package for the recent 3.1.6 release that works correctly under our virtualization environment. This is useful for users of Debian 5 wanting to dist-upgrade to 6, and for CentOS users wanting to use CentOS 6+. We will be including this kernel in our templates.

Ubiquity Atlanta will be conducting network maintenance at on the morning of Sunday, December 18, 2011 between midnight and 2 AM facility local (Eastern) time. During this time, we will be conducting software upgrades on our core network infrastructure and making adjustments to various memory profiles which will require the device to be restarted. VPS Kernel versions?

Hey guys,

So I'm loving this so far, I just have one concern: I'm stuck on a 3 year old kernel because it's the only one that is known to work with networking.

Is it a limitation of using stock Debian kernels on a Xen-based VM, or is there something we can work out to get more current versions to run? I'll look at building my own if I have to, but the Debian kernel works for every other VPS I have (granted, running on KVM, not Xen) - it'd be nice if this one would play the game too.

[VPS] Emergency Maintenance

We have caught a bad disk on vps1.smart-serv.net and will need to bring it offline to change the affected disk. We are working on getting a time frame from the datacentre technicians. This outage will also affect customers on web2.smart-serv.net.

UPDATE: It appears the provider has taken the server down to replace the harddrive (without warning)
